Kitsch + Glitch

Hello Friends. Kitsch Flamingo has most definitely landed. If you missed the LIVE launch, you can catch up on all the fun over on Tim’s blog.

For this make I could definitely feel the dark side calling me back as I matched kitsch flamingo with the glitch 2 CMS404 stamps and gears from the mechanical bigz (665225) die.

I started with a wash of frayed burlap distress spray onto distress watercolor cardstock and dried. I used the ledger script CMS241 background stamp, one of my favourite ever background stamps, stamping in kitsch flamingo oxide ink.

I stamped the glitch 2 CMS404 stamp in distress archival ink and blended in a little frayed burlap distress ink with a paintbrush. I spritzed with water letting the kitsch flamingo and frayed burlap wick and dried with a heat tool.

The kitsch flamingo distress paint works beautifully on the idea-ology thought tokens. It really pops against the metal.

I die cut gears from the mechanical bigz die (665225) in alcohol foil tape embossed with the foundry 3D folder (662717). I added ground espresso distress paint to the background and evergreen bough distress paint to the rivets.

I added an extra piece of alcohol foil tape that had been embossed with the 3D foundry folder (662717). I painted kitsch flamingo distress paint onto kraft heavystock and sanded the edges to make a co-ordinated background. I scored and folded another piece of kraft heavystock for the card base. I love this kraft heavystock, it’s so sturdy.

I finished the gears off by adding an idea-ology hardware head in the center. These remain one of my favourite and most used of the smaller idea-ology pieces.

Gorgeous card Zoe, never thought the pink fits in to grunge or vintage until I saw your great makes.

Well this girl Zoe certainly knows how to get her pink on! There is nothing remotely low brow or poor quality about this pink – Kitch Flamingo – fresh from the mind of ‘our’ Tim via Ranger. Possibly with a smidging of encouragement from the Kitch onsie wearing Mario! Lol! We all know what silences Tim now – God bless his Disney loving heart!

Teamed up with grungy brown with the addition of a pop of blue I’m sure it will raise a few eyebrows. But, for me it’s the perfect colour to add a bit of long awaited femininity to the world of grunge.

Good job IGirlZoe – you rocked this brief!

Those fabulously grungy textured gears start to sing as the pink pops into focus … so clever, so cool.
