Hello friends. I’m sharing a sample I made for the Tim Holtz Sizzix Classic Handwritten and Vault re-release LIVE launch. Tim showcased some Classic Handwritten die sets that had been long retired and have been brought back for a limited time. I love using the Handwritten dies over larger Alphanumeric and with the re-release of the Vault World Travel set from 2024, it was the inspiration for this tag. Let’s get into the details…
For the base of my project I used an Etcetera Tag in the Mini size and added some paper from the idea-ology Backdrops Volume 5 Paper Pack. This is currently on sale (at the time of writing) over at Simon Says Stamp and linked below, so you may want to stock up! I added some Distress ink to the edges of my tag and, once dry, added some Remnant Rubs.
Next I die cut the globe from the Re-released Vault 2024 World Travel die set. Added Distress ink and mounted using 3D foam. I like the black 3D adhesive foam squares from Simon Says Stamp and stock up on these regularly.
I die cut the word “WORLD” from the Alphanumeric Bulletin die set from a sheet of map paper from the Green 8×8 Palette Paper Collection. Die cutting a second time from Distress Watercolor Cardstock and using the outline, inked with scorched timber Distress ink, to frame the letters.
Using the re-released Classic Handwritten Vacation die set to cut the word “TRAVEL” from idea-ology Black Kraftstock and mounted a couple of times onto Distress Kraft Heavystock and glued over the top of the world die cuts. Sadly, the idea-ology Black Kraftstock has been retired so stock up while it’s still available (linked below).
I confess that I have had this Tiny Travel die set for a long time and had never used it, but I’m so glad I added it to my collection when it was released as now was the perfect time to use it. I die cut several of the cute travel icons, inked with Distress and mounted onto my tag with the 3D adhesive foam squares.
I’m obsessed with these tiny travel icons and will be using them again soon so I didn’t bother to put them away!
Using the Decorative Trims die set, Distress Cracked Leather Cardstock and Etcetera Scallop Trims, I created shelves for the travel icons and World Travel words to sit on. Adding some idea-ology Screw Heads to the edges. Finally adding some more idea-ology Remnant Rubs to the bottom of the tag.
