If like me you have many packs of the idea-ology classic kraftstock with the black sheets missing from all of them, then this is going to excite you…

24 sheets of black only kraftstock, welcome to the kraft stock family BLACKOUT! I use this krafstock as background layers, frames and die cuts for cards, tags and banners. Both for Halloween, Christmas and the rest of the year. I love that I don’t have to decide if a project is worthy of my precious scraps of black kraftstock anymore. Thank you Tim!!

One of the things that other black cardstocks don’t have is the kraft core and the slight almost burlap texture. Use a sanding grip and distress inks to highlight and tint the kraft core.

with vintage photo distress ink.

I wanted to create a starry night over rooftops. I die cut houses from the ghost town thinlits die set from blackout kraftstock, sanded the edges with my sanding grip and blended vintage photo distress ink in. I added a little fossilized amber distress paint to highlight the windows and set them aside. Once dry I used a fine detail paint brush to add a little black soot distress crayon mixed with water.

I used distress oxide sprays to create the background.

Once dry I added texture paste opaque crackle through a stencil and set aside to dry. Once dry I placed the stencil back over the stars and rubbed distress vintage collage medium with my finger and set aside to dry.

I added distress crayon to create a light halo above the houses.

I mounted over more blackout kraftstock which I sanded and blended frayed burlap distress ink into.

I am screaming to the rooftops about this exciting news, thank you for you persistence Zoe, now we all never have to worry just which pieces of our projects are “worthy” of the black kraft stock! I placed my order and your INCREDIBLE project has me wishing it was here already. This is gorgeous, the starry sky and halo effect look amazing paired with those houses, then layered up, its a spectacular sight! Can’t thank you, Tim, Mario and Advantus enough! #blackoutisbeyondcompare

Glorious rendition of a favorite VanGogh and such a wonderful tribute to “Blackout.” Even on a simpler style card, your attention to every detail is amazing and the final result is stunning! Thanks for the tutorial, the inspiration and product list. Your artwork and style is so appealing to me and I’m grateful (and if I’m honest, a little jealous) of those of you in the art world who have the ability to influence change, thank you! Blackout for the win! 🖤🖤🖤

YES! I think I squealed with delight when I heard the news…the hubby was wondering what had happened…LOL…Now I don’t have to “justify” when and where the black craftstock is used…Whew! AND now to use up all those colors from the packs with the “missing” black sheets…

Wow, gorgeous! I was surprised you didn’t use any oxide blue’s in de background of the sky. Is the blue-ish from de frayed burlap oxide spray?
